Message from the Board of Fire Commissioners and the Fire Chief:
We have all been touched by these hard economic times, during this last year we have seen a small decrease in our fire protection dues/donations fund raising attempt. Your Fire Department Board of Commissioners and Fire Chief have worked hard to keep our administrative costs to a minimum. We need your help now, to better help you in your time of need.
We would like the support of all the business owners and citizens to make this 2012 the best year ever for the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department
If you live in our service area consider this an invitation to get to know us better and visit one of the fire stations and meet the crews. If you belong to a property owners association, we would be honored to send a department representative to your next association meeting to describe the capabilities of the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department and to hear your comments and or concerns.
The NVFD serves Nokomis, Laurel, South Osprey and all of Casey Key. The benefits to having a volunteer fire department are tremendous, inculuding a significant cost savings to the residents of the area served. We are a full service agency that responds to medical emergencies, structure fires, wild-land fires, motor vehicle accidents and fire alarms in the service area as well as providing Mutual Aid to the surrounding fire departments.
